Rejoice when others see you as worthy to be attacked.  Rejoice that you resemble Jesus.  Be glad that your life reveals a genuine faith in Jesus.  And rejoice and be glad for the glory of God rests on you. The world may hate you, insult you and even seek to destroy you, but the world can never take away the joy you have in Christ.

God sent Jesus to do for you what you could not do for yourself to set you free and make you His very own.  So, then, if God did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?  This is why the Church is the hope of the world!  For every single human being longs to be loved, to be valued, to belong.  And that’s what God did for you through the gospel.

You are not the same person you once were.  You are now different.  God sees you as a holy one, a saint.  You were a sinner. But God made you a saint.  That’s what it means to embrace your new identity in Christ.  To see yourself as God sees you.  Fully alive to Him, set-apart for Him, with unlimited potential to do the works He has prepared for you.

If Jesus had the authority to lay down his life and had authority to take up again – then you can trust in the authority of His Word.  You can count on what Jesus says.  And this should give you hope in the darkness.  For when things looked darkest for the disciples, when their world seemed to be falling apart, and when all seemed lost… Jesus rose from the grave, just as he said he would.  And if Jesus did what he said he would do by rising from the dead, you can trust him in whatever he promises.

This is what our Father wants you to know.  Just as God promised to be with Joshua, He will be with you.  In this age of social distancing, God is near.  He doesn’t change. He is always there.  He is always seeking your best.  He is always pursuing you with His love.  “I will be with you wherever you go”  I will be with you when things look bleak.  I’ll be with you when you feel weak.  “So be strong in me.  Get your courage from me.  For I will never leave you nor forsake you. I will be with you wherever you go.”

Can you imagine that if every time you made a mistake, you had a Christian get in your face and tell you how badly you blew it?  The sad reality is that there are many people who never darken a church door today because they were hurt by the very people who should have understood them and loved them.  Love acts the gentleman by being understanding of people.
