Our Values are what drive our mission to help people become friends, family and followers of Jesus. We have six values that are the motives behind what we believe God has called us to be:
1. We will be Gospel Formed
We desire that every person and every ministry be formed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe God gives us everything we need to be His people and do the work He has called us to do. Everything we need to be the church – to love and serve others is found in and through Jesus Christ.
“The more a church is tapped into the gospel, the more transformative power will be present by the Holy Spirit in that church. But the more the church gets away from the centrality of the gospel, the more a church will run on fumes, seeing people conformed to a pattern of religion rather than transformed by the power of the Spirit of God.” – Matt Chandler, Creature of the Word, page 20
2. We will be Jesus Centered
We see ourselves as “apprentices of Jesus” who are learning to live and love more and more like Jesus. We want to help every person experience the joy of following Jesus. To that end we want to build a Christ-centered culture where sinners find forgiveness, failures find understanding, the weak are encouraged and the broken find healing. A culture where truth dispels ignorance, grace trumps prejudice, compassion removes apathy and love conquers all.
3. We will be Spirit Led
We want to keep in step with God’s Spirit as He guides us into ways we can love and serve others. We see ourselves as “sent ones” who come alongside our neighbors to love and serve them through the rhythms of daily life.
4. We will be Relationally Focused
We want to make friends with people the way Jesus did. We want to be “vessels of grace” as we share our lives and serve our neighbors so they might taste the grace of God through genuine friendship and love.
5. We will be Servant Minded
We want to give generously of ourselves in all we do. We see ourselves as “servants with Jesus” who willingly give of our time, treasures and talents, because Jesus willingly gave His all for us.
6. We will be Prayer Fueled
We want to be a people devoted to prayer. We see ourselves as “change agents” who ask God to soften hard hearts and open closed doors so that people might become receptive to the good news of Jesus Christ.
We believe that apart from God\’s working, we can do nothing. So we desire to bring everything to God in prayer.
