John takes great delight that Jesus is now centerstage. He’s done His job. It’s no longer important who he is or what he has done. The only thing that matters to him is that people are coming to Jesus.

Jesus never meant for any of His followers to help others trust or follow Him on their own. That’s why He made sure to include this promise. Jesus promises to be with us. HE wants to help us. He just needs us to TRUST that He will be RIGHT there with us to give us the words we need, the kindness we need, the patience we need, or the grace we need to help our friends or family come closer to Jesus, or to grow in their faith in Jesus.

You and I don’t decide to make Jesus Lord; He is Lord regardless of what we think of him. Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave, and now He is exalted at the Father’s right hand as the Lord over all creation. He is the Ultimate Authority in the Universe! There is no one greater, no one higher, no one more powerful than Jesus!
