The Resurrection Life is a Limitless Life

Your potential for change comes not from what you do, but from who lives in you!
1. DWELL: We have a limitless potential to live Christ’s LIFE
Ever wished you could be more like Jesus? Ever wished you could really love like Jesus, serve like Jesus and live like Jesus? For most of us, the reason we are not more like Jesus, is that we try to live His life in our strength… not in the strength God gives. SO HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS: You don’t have to live His life in your own strength. You can’t! It is impossible. We need His power to live His life.
So He asks the Father, that out of His grace, He might transform our weak and sin-sickened hearts into grace-fortified walls of freedom and joy where Jesus can be at home. God wants to make your heart a home for Jesus! But it doesn’t just happen. God wants us to ask Him to make it happen!
Most of us have heard that mantra: Prayer Changes Things. Well, this is the kind of prayer that changes us. This is the kind of prayer that changes us because it’s the kind of prayer that God wants to answer.
2. FULL: We have a limitless potential to know Christ’s LOVE
He prays this because He wants us to become a dynamic community that’s full of Christ’s love. This is our potential. But if we are going to tap into our potential, we must truly experience Christ’s love. So he prays: “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”… The love of Christ:
THE LOVE OF CHRIST
It’s WIDE enough to reach the whole world
It’s LONG enough to stretch from eternity to eternity
It’s HIGH enough to raise us to heaven
It’s DEEP enough to rescue anyone from sin’s damage and Satan’s domain
God wants to fill us with His love. That’s what Paul asks God to do for us. This is our potential: FULL God wants us to know Christ’s love so we overflow with God’s presence.
3. IMAGINE: We have a limitless God who is ABLE
God IS ABLE TO GIVE US what we need to tap into our limitless potential. He gives us His power, His love, His presence because He gives us His Spirit. HE GIVES US HIMSELF.
God gives us Himself because He has chosen to bring glory to Himself through the Church. This is our wild and crazy God. God could have brought glory to His name by moving mountains with the kind of dazzling special affects that would make Hollywood envious. But that’s not God’s way. No God’s way is to choose simple, messed up, people who’ve been wounded and wasted by sin, bring us together by the love of Christ, and then through us dazzle the world with the amazing love of Christ. This is His plan. His way… and our potential!
This prayer is not simply a life changing prayer, it is not simply a prayer God wants to answer, it’s a prayer He is able to answer… He is able to do for us beyond our wildest dreams!
