
Love Does Marriage

1) The Perfect Example of Love: Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:25-27
The Perfect Example: Demotes, Denies, Dies Sacrifices, Sanctifies, Secures Listens, Leads, Lifts, Promotes, Provides, Protects
The Perfect Example: “Call to Action” Be a sacrifice – Ephesians 5:2 Be a gentleman – Colossians 3:19 Be a student – 1 Peter 3:7 Be a smooth talker – Ephesians 4:29 Be a teacher – Romans 10:8
2) The Perfect Expression of Love: So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body. Ephesians 5:28-30
The Perfect Expression is Foundational and Forgiving Covering and Chivalrous Attentive and Alluring Respectful and Romantic
The Perfect Expression: “Call to Action” Provide a stable Foundation Provide a protective covering Tell her she is beautiful Assure her she’s yours
3) The Perfect Exhibition of Love: For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. Ephesians 5:31
The Perfect Expression is Oneness, Unified Inseparable, complimentary
The Perfect Expression: “Call to Action” Confirm your faith in God Stand by your word and promise Provide a loving atmosphere Take seriously your pledge
