The God of the Middle
May 5, 2024
God is the God of the Beginning and the God of the End.
He also is the God of the MIDDLE!
Today we will see how different people from Scripture faced their “Middle Experience” and what we can learn from them as we face ours.
1. From King Jehoshaphat, we learn to LOOK to the Lord!
“O our God, will you not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You” (2 Chronicles 20:12 NASB).
2. From Queen Esther, we learn to SURRENDER to the Lord!
“And thus I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law, and if I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16b NASB).
“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need”(Hebrews 4:16 NASB).
3. From the early believers, we learn to WAIT for the Lord!
“At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel” (Luke 2:25 NLT).
“She (Anna) came along just as Simeon was talking with Mary and Joseph, and she began praising God. She talked about the child to everyone who had been waiting expectantly for God to rescue Jerusalem” (Luke 2:38 NLT).
“But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior” (Philippians 3:20 NLT).
“And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for Him” (Hebrews 9:27-28 NLT).
Are you facing a “Middle Experience?”
Like Jehoshaphat, do you need to LOOK to the Lord?
Like Esther, do you need to SURRENDER to the Lord?
Like the early believers, do you need to WAIT for the Lord?
Remember, God is the God of YOUR Middle!
