We are all like this condemned woman. Our fate is in the hands of Jesus. And if you believe in Jesus, then His mercy leads you to a whole new life with Him. A life where you don’t just leave your life of sin, but a life where you want to live and love just like Jesus. A life where you let mercy lead. That’s the whole point of the Gospel.

When you believe in Jesus you are no longer an object of God’s wrath, but an object of God’s mercy. You will never be separated from life with God. You will enjoy a new way of life with God, and your future will be secure with Christ forever.

Mercy led Jesus to lay down His life, so that now, anyone who puts their trust in him will receive the mercy of God. They will be forgiven and set free from a life of sin and given life with God. It’s no wonder then, that Jesus blesses the merciful. For when you are merciful you are acting most like God, who is rich in mercy.

God sent to us the perfect offering for our sin – Jesus the sinless One; who became sin for us, to take our place, to receive our penalty, to remove God’s wrath and to set us free. And the good news is that God did this all for you out of His love for you.

Often non-beleivers will treat us poorly to see how we will respond. They will bait us by their poor behavior to us to see if we will sink to their level and retaliate. If we then do retaliate; then they can discredit our faith or affirm their belief that Christianity is false. But if we treat them well and give them respect we show them an alternative way to live – we show them the way of love.
