This then, is how we are to abide in Christ: We remain in His Word and Obey His Commands. When we do this, we will live in Christ and Christ will live in us. That’s how the Father has designed for us to bear much fruit. That’s how the Father has designed for us to do what we could not do on our own. When we obey God’s Word, Jesus comes alive through us! You see, the world doesn’t need you and I nearly as much as it needs the Jesus in you.

God’s Word can equip you, supply you, outfit you to be the blessing God means you to be. And when we learn it, hide it in our hearts, and put it into practice in our everyday lives: God’s Word will equip you to see the world like our God sees it and serve the world like Jesus served it.

Rooted In Faith: Living By Faith

Noah is a remarkable model of what it means to live by faith. He believed God’s Word concerning judgment about things not yet seen, so he responded in obedience and built the ark. But he didn’t build the ark out of fear of judgment, but out of his reverential fear of the God he knew. And he kept at it for 120 years even though no one else believed. He lived by faith. And so God rewarded him.
