Jesus shared his life with ordinary people. He was intentional about living his life among those who needed God (Luke 6:30-32) He went to their parties, ate meals in their homes, and served them in the midst of the routines of life. Jesus put no limits on who he would hang out with. As a result Jesus was called, “a friend of tax collectors and sinners.” (Luke 7:34)
To those nearest to him, they experienced his definition of friendship: “to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Jesus even called his followers “friends” and proved his friendship by sharing with them the most intimate details of the Father’s will. (John 15:13-15)
At Rock Springs we want to live as friends with our neighbors. We want to celebrate milestones, share meals, learn stories and enjoy life together with our neighbors so that we might be able to love and serve them just as Jesus has loved and served us.
But we don’t want to do this alone. That is why we are encouraging each person to become part of a Neighborhood Group. As part of a Neighborhood Group you will learn to do life and ministry in the natural rhythms of life the way Jesus did. Our hope is that not only will we make great new friends together, but we will become a blessing to many here at Robson Ranch.
