Rejoice when others see you as worthy to be attacked.  Rejoice that you resemble Jesus.  Be glad that your life reveals a genuine faith in Jesus.  And rejoice and be glad for the glory of God rests on you. The world may hate you, insult you and even seek to destroy you, but the world can never take away the joy you have in Christ.

Mercy led Jesus to lay down His life, so that now, anyone who puts their trust in him will receive the mercy of God.  They will be forgiven and set free from a life of sin and given life with God.  It’s no wonder then, that Jesus blesses the merciful.  For when you are merciful you are acting most like God, who is rich in mercy.

Then this same governor encouraged people to rat… Read More »

  • Matthew 5:1-5

The good news of the kingdom is that God favor’s those who are lowly in heart.  It is this poverty of spirit, this conscious awareness of unworthiness before God, that opens the floodgates of God’s mercy. For when we’re totally honest and confess we are indeed sinful and in need of God, this is where blessing begins.

We don’t choose Jesus.  Jesus chooses us.  Jesus comes into our world of darkness.  He comes to deliver us, to rescue us, to save us.  Left to ourselves we will not seek a relationship with God.  In our darkness we will choose sin over God; every time.

Many times God puts difficult people in our lives – not to test our patience – but so we can shine the spotlight of God’s grace in their lives.  Remember, Jesus says, “You are the light of the world.”  And the way you shine your light is by peddling grace to people who need grace! Because that’s what God did for you, when He saved you.
